Innovative firing method

FIRE GLAZED

With Fire Glazed, GIMA is offering a fascinating new surface variant for unique bricks. The innovative firing method – a combination of charcoal and salt firing and glazing – results in a unique look with alternating glazed and broken surfaces, with salt and charcoal firing and with edges and notches.

Using a totally new firing method, the GIMA development team has now implemented another surface variant: Fire Glazed. The bricks are covered with a glaze before the firing process. This is burnt into the bricks, just like the charcoal and salt, and causes them to stick together in places. The bricks may need to be prised apart from each other after the firing process. This results in a novel and totally individual look with glazed and broken surfaces that also offer a play of colors in light and dark shades – every brick is truly unique here.

Individuality meets perfectionism

Out of passion for clay

We satisfy the wishes of the planners. This applies equally to the shape and to the color and surface.

Not only are GIMA bricks among the most resistant and durable bricks on the market – the manufacturer from Marklkofen offers a large number of colors, shapes and surfaces, and always develops them in accordance with the wishes of the planners and architects. Bricks with genuine charcoal and salt firing, glazed surfaces or even broken bricks are produced individually and on a project-by-project basis.

GIMA not only responds individually to the wishes of the planners when it comes to surface design. The desired color is also adjusted and refined in our in-house color laboratory for as long as it takes until the color is 100% perfect. The choice and intensity of colors are almost limitless. The fact that the colors last for the life of the bricks is also due to the more complex and now rarely used charcoal and salt firing process – for particularly resistant, unique facade and paving bricks.
